As a tribute, we are honoring a true “CHAMPION” AND “LEADER” of American Legion Ed Brauner Post 307. Jimmy supported and served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1968. He completed his service in 1968 and received an Honorable Discharge. Jimmy was an amazing leader and supported Post 307 for over 13 years. He served as Post Commander from 2015 through 2017. He continued to support the Post as Adjutant-Administrative Officer and Historian. Jimmy kept the operations of the Post running for over 8 years. In addition to these duties, Jimmy was responsible for our monthly newsletter. Our newsletter was recognized by the Departmental Louisiana American Legion and received awards for the outstanding publication. In his spare time, he also served as our Post photographer and maintained our Post Facebook page. This is just a few contributions this amazing man had made to Post 307. We salute you, Jimmy Pilet. You will be sorely missed by your many friends and remembered as a dedicated, Legionnaire to Ed Brauner Post 307.

Our April 22nd General Membership Meeting is our meeting where we nominate personnel who are interested in serving the Post in elected positions. I encourage all individuals who have an interest in helping with Post Leadership as an Officer or Committee Chairman to run for a position. We can use your help in our Post and Community activities and remember that this helps our fellow Veterans and our community.

On Saturday April 6th we will have the Post 307 favorite, best attended Event: The Annual Post 307 Crawfish Boil. I hope that all who plan to attend have turned in their RSVP’s as you will not be allowed to enter if you haven’t!

We had a great turnout for support of our annual Fish Fry in support of St Michael Special School Fund Raiser at Annunciation Square on March 14th. We provided a Donation to St Michael School that was sincerely appreciated. Thanks to all of you in the Post for your support of these Community activities and institutions.

The next BIG event that we’ll have is our Nominations for our Post Leadership elections. Most of our Leadership positions have Chairman ships of Committees that perform the work of our Post (Entertainment, Boys State, Scholarship and Awards, Finance, etc.). We need your support on all the committees so we can continue our work both as a Veterans Organization and in doing the work required for our community support.
